During the press conference that took place in the Italian Embassy in Beijing on 12th July, the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai organizers announced the second edition of the exhibition (eagerly-awaited by the Chinese market), presented the new advertising campaign and revealed the names of the companies that had already confirmed their participation.
Last year’s edition aroused the Chinese market enthusiasm and interest for Made in Italy design, represented by 56 Italian companies. The second edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai will be held from 23rd to 25th November 2017 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre (SEC), with more than 100 Italian brands and a much bigger exhibition area.
“China is one of the most important countries for the development of our companies,” says Claudio Luti, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano. “Every year many Chinese professionals visit our exhibition in Milan, but being in Shanghai provides the Italian companies and the Chinese market with new chances of collaborating and making business. This is why we are back in Shanghai for the second year. We think that this represents a unique opportunity for the most important Italian companies to meet Chinese architects, designers and professionals. We have also organized a rich programme involving famous Italian designers who, together with the companies, will illustrate to the visitors the charm, history and value of Italian products, giving a taste of the wonderful Made in Italy world. The aim of the Shanghai exhibition is representing the Salone del Mobile.Milano essence.”
During the press conference, the new 2017 campaign was launched: it combines Italy with China and Milan with Shanghai, evoking and highlighting the identity of every single country and the harmony resulting from the fusion of these two cultures, as well as the leading role of this international exhibition.
Once more, the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai will bring together the most important architects, interior designers, importers, dealers, real estate developers and professionals of the industry to offer them the possibility of testing the top-quality Italian furniture in China.
“The last edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai was an extraordinary success,” declares Ettore Sequi, Italian Ambassador in China. “Federlegno Arredo is the proof that Italian companies can achieve great successes when they work together. They are leaders in this sector thanks to their experience and tradition combined with ongoing research for new and innovative solutions.”
According to Amedeo Scarpa, director of ICE-Italian Trade Promotion Agency in Beijing and coordinator of the ITA network in China “the Chinese market is one of the most important in the world in terms of interior decoration and design awareness, but it is also very competitive and demanding. This is why Made in Italy needs to be supported by the Italian trade agency ITA/ICE, which, together with the Italian Embassy, has been standing beside Federlegno Arredo and the Italian companies in such a long and fruitful collaboration between Italy and China since the very first edition.”
For the 2017 edition too, SaloneSatellite, dedicated to designers under 35 and Master Classes, with three meetings featuring Italian and international architects, will be the main not-to-be-missed activities taking place during the exhibition.
