RELIFE is an innovative, sustainable and contemporary project whose aim is creating an exclusive environment with a familiar atmosphere that can host an international community of young people. How can this be achieved? Through a new format of Student Housing, which offers a first-class accommodation service while creating an active community involved in the non-profit sector.
The redevelopment project in Turin (but new openings have already been planned in other Italian and European cities) involves two buildings and it was designed by the architect Stefano Seita from Turin and by the design company Lombardini22 to host 202 rooms in the building located in Corso Novara 59 and 98 rooms in Via Tollegno 22.
The two facilities in Corso Novara and Via Tollegno can host up to 330 students and today 25 nationalities are already present: from Iran to Morocco, from Holland to Spain and even South America.
RELIFE is a wide and stimulating world that offers young people a variety of services, including: a gym, places to study and relax, the Foundation area, the Social bar, the internal courtyard, the common area with a basketball court, some chairs, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and barbecue stations.
The artistic intervention carried out in the basketball court, inspired by Optical Art, is the outstanding element of the student housing. The concept is the dualism permeating every aspect of life: in a basketball match it can be represented by attack and defence, while from a conceptual point of view it can be the balance between yin and yang. The whole project integrates harmoniously the illustrative style, the geometrical lines and the techniques of the court.
In addition, to increase the level of engagement, FUD (a Lombardini22 brand) together with Jungle launched a Guerrilla Marketing campaign based on Green Graffiti, which caught the students’ attention through designs and teaser messages, inviting them to learn more about the RELIFE world through a QR code.
RELIFE Turin also aims at being an open environment accessible to the whole community that can interact with the urban fabric, bringing innovation. In fact, the Food&Beverage area, which will be ready in the next months, will be available for all citizens, thus becoming a gathering and meeting point. Additionally, the common spaces of the facility will host courses, meetings, cooking classes and other events, aiming at turning RELIFE into a place where each individual can enrich the community.
Marco Zanibelli, Director of L22 EDU, concludes:
“With the design of the communication and Interior Design activities, Lombardini22 developed for RELIFE the Student Housing 4.0, promoting a new idea of future that contemplates the responsibilities towards the place and reference community.”
