Digital art and bright red for the new Tribe Budapest Airport Hotel

-

Design, comfort and connectivity are the distinguishing features of the new Tribe Budapest Airport Hotel, a four-star hotel designed by este’r partners near Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Hungary.

The hotel, directly connected to Terminal 2, is part of the Tribe brand of the Accor group. The interior design bears the signature of the interior design studio este’r partners, the exterior architecture is from Aspektus Architect Zrt., which has shaped a building with a contemporary and distinctive style.

este’r partners paid great attention to the distribution of space and the clarity of paths, balancing aesthetics and functionality in every choice. Floors with graphic motifs and visual signs help guests to find their way around, while chromatic and material signs – such as the red cladding, which not only emphasises the technical core (lifts, bathrooms) but is also a functional and decorative element of great impact – help to make the various functions immediately recognisable.

Functionality and flexibility were top priorities. On the ground floor, four conference rooms (two large and two small) offer versatile solutions for working groups: bright and equipped with movable walls, they can be integrated into the common space, greatly expanding the possibilities of use and adapting to different needs.

Tribe’s stylistic language is immediately recognisable through the use of intense dark colours, enlivened by bold colour touches and an unexpected combination of materials and patterns. The carefully selected furniture and decorative objects add character and tell stories. For this project, este’r partners was inspired by the work of a digital film artist and integrated striking moving images by Estonian photographer Virgo Haan, which evoke themes of diversity and social acceptance, enriching the guests’ experience with an artistic and reflective touch.

The interiors of este’r partners perfectly interpret the spirit of the Tribe brand, with rigour and sensitivity: fluid, multi-sensory environments in which selected materials, clean lines, sophisticated textures and formal and colour choices generate authentic, immersive experiences. The architectural solutions are designed to create open and flexible spaces in which different functions are harmoniously integrated.

The lobby – accessible from an entrance shared with the Ibis Styles hotel – is a large and dynamic space, the beating heart of which is a central bar that changes function during the course of the day, turning into a breakfast area in the morning.

This multifunctional environment serves as a social hub, offering coworking spaces, relaxation areas, study and game stations, a self-service “grab and go” bar, and informal refreshment areas. Each area is designed to encourage interaction, with furniture varying in shape and height, equipped with sockets for charging devices and designed to stimulate sociability and shared work.

Lighting plays a key role in the enhancement of surfaces and materials, combining indirect technical lighting that enhances special architectural elements with iconic designer lamps. Unique solutions, such as the metal foil ceiling that creates a floating surface above the long communal table in the lobby, add a touch of originality and sophistication.

The hotel’s 167 rooms and suites are designed for short, yet comfortable stays, with optimised space and attention to detail: open wardrobes, compact desks, cosy beds and designer touches combine to create a relaxing and functional environment. Illuminated by soft lighting, the corridors offer an almost cinematic immersive experience.

The rooftop bar on the top floor offers a privileged view of the airport. A refined and evocative ambience, where panoramic windows, reflective surfaces and plays of light amplify the hotel’s dominant tones: royal blue and bright red sloping down to pink and apricot, giving an almost dreamlike sensation of floating, in an atmosphere as iridescent as the sky and air movement.
