-

Chophouse has been operating as a steakhouse restaurant for over 10 years in Malta, enjoying the best view of the Capital City – Valletta; recently, the owner Kitchen Concepts Ltd. Has decided to revamp this restaurant and take it to a different culinary experience.

The architectural studio DAAA Haus immediately immersed in research to find new trends, taking inspiration from iconic and new restaurants in London to bring something fresh, new and exciting to the island.

Following that, the studio has identified the need for creating a gastronomic experience brought to life by introducing bold and dark elements to create a different atmosphere that expresses luxury but also fun at the same time, in tune with the design brief of  GOOD NIGHT OUT experience.

This is transmitted immediately on the entrance with the introduction of lush green wallpaper throughout, dark colours and the theatrical rich curtain fabrics; in addition, the restaurant has been divided in two areas with comfortable sofas and green plants, while a chill-out bar was separated at the entrance, where one can enjoy a drink and some nibbles and a dining area with an open kitchen.

Dimmed lighting was used throughout with the introduction of battery-operated Flos table lights to creating a warm and more intimate mood: this also helps in giving focus not only to the food but also the breathtaking views; another area within the restaurant is the Wine Cav, which has been retained and enhanced at the same time.

Finally, the Chophouse brand has been cleaned up to just the basic and by using simple bold font and DAAA Haus suggested special high street fashion pieces for all staff uniforms from the host, bar and service staff offering patrons a surprising experience throughout.
