Milan, the undisputed capital of style and design, welcomes a new gem into the heart of its fashion district. Marco Bicego officially inaugurated its new monobrand boutique at Via della Spiga, a strategic opening that further consolidates the brand’s presence in the Italian market and strengthens its international image. The retail design project and architecture for this flagship store were entrusted to Parisotto+Formenton Architetti, while the lighting design bears the signature of Metis Lighting.
The design intent was to reinterpret Marco Bicego’s aesthetic codes in a contemporary key, creating a space with an essential, elegant, and sophisticated design, capable of authentically conveying the brand’s values and identity. The interior design is distinguished by its selection of luxurious materials and the use of warm, neutral tones that define the environment, enriched by details in dark burnished metal and oak. The interplay between neutral elements and more textured surfaces creates a sophisticated dynamic of contrasts and harmonies.
The seamless resin flooring is enhanced by a luxurious bespoke carpet, while the walls, treated with a textured plaster of natural pigments and earth, subtly respond to the changing light. A visual focal point at the rear of the space is a wall of three-dimensional tiles that frames the display cases. The use of travertine and onyx, chosen for the grand central table, lends further distinction to the environment.
The shop window, skillfully set within the façade of a historic Milanese palazzo, transforms into an element of communication for the brand’s distinctive values. Bespoke sculptural brass details, designed specifically by the architects, such as the display cases and the entrance door handle, inspired by the coil work – a stylistic signature of Marco Bicego – are a prime example of this.
The primary goal of this new retail concept is to showcase Marco Bicego jewelry through clean, architectural lines, enhanced by meticulous attention to detail and the finest materials. The result is a contemporary yet timeless look and feel, perfectly balanced between elegance and authenticity.
