Big Rock – Institute of Magic Technologies, the school founded in 2005 in Roncade (Treviso) and dedicated to the professionals in the field of computer graphics and 3D animation, has a new headquarters today, designed by the architectural studio Zanon Architetti Associati.
The project consists in the recovery and temporary set-up of a former shed inside Tenuta Ca’ Tron, an agricultural complex that extended over an area of 1200 hectares and is considered the largest single-body agricultural estate in Veneto region.
The architectural system used to split out the large vaulted rooms into smaller and suitably insulated spaces is flexible, low cost and removable, and is made of a light metal structure combined with sound-absorbing panels.
The articulated layout of the plan allowed to create spaces differentiated by function, connected by a long corridor; the horizontal closure of the various "rooms" has allowed the creation of a mezzanine that can be reached by three galvanized metal staircases.
The result is a welcoming and functional headquarters, where the students can fully express their creativity.
