Albed’s geometric patterns reinvent the contemporary door

-

From the minimalist rigor of the early 20th century to the exuberance of the 1970s, geometric patterns have always expressed an eclectic visual force: combined or overlapping modules, on floors or positioned vertically, asymmetrical metal frames in various finishes, glass panels enhanced with metal meshes, and dynamic color contrasts.

Albed interprets this creative language with the Celine, Boisè, and Ri-trait collections, redefining the door as an element of transition and suspension within the linearity of the wall.

Designed by Paolo Festa, the Celine collection reinterprets early 20th-century geometric decorations through a door panel featuring rectangular metal frames and glass inserts, customizable in over ninety finishes from the Albed catalog. Materials can be combined for a uniform or contrasting effect, giving the collection a minimalist and contemporary look or, alternatively, a more classic and sophisticated appearance. Celine is available in hinged, sliding, pocket, flush-to-wall, or partition wall versions, ensuring maximum versatility for any design need.

Boisè transforms a decorative and flexible panel into a flush-fitting hinged element, reinterpreting the traditional concept and aesthetics of boiserie in a modern key. The door system, designed by Bettazzi + Percoco Architetti, creates a striking decorative frame on one or both sides that extends over the wall and amplifies the doorway with geometric and optical patterns.

Meanwhile, Ri-trait turns a single glass panel, which appears as a double-layered, flush-to-wall element, into an exploration of color and materiality, making it an ideal solution for office and commercial spaces. The aluminum frames and casings, customizable in RAL colors upon request, ensure a deliberately minimal aesthetic, balanced by the panel, available in different decorative finishes, including a tweed-effect texture that gives a satin, tactile look.

Through these solutions, Albed enters the history of geometric patterns, writing a new design chapter in the weave of timeless appeal.
