The Ink collection by Ceramiche Refin, subtitled “Wandering Mind“, is placed within the prestigious Iconic Design collections, which are authentic decorative revolutions conceived and shaped by Refin’s Laboratory in the spirit of the boldest experimentation. Ink represents Refin’s ability to look at ceramics from a new perspective, combining the artisan nature of the hand-drawn design with the precision of Refin’s industrial technology.
The conceptual heart of Ink resides in translating the “soft and uninterrupted mental flow”. Interior sensations and moods are deposited on the surface as spontaneous marks, where small, hand-drawn micro lines follow on from each other in a rhythmic texture which is, however, never the same. This instinctive and sincere free-hand style is generated by micro-sections placed close together, creating an orderly and harmonic pattern which is both vibrant and dynamic, being the result of personal gesturality. The lean aesthetics, with Zen references, evoke the weave and weft of a delicate fabric (textile structure), offering a visual effect that varies depending on the light and the distance of observation.
Ink highlights the particular graphic design detail and emphasizes its fluid effect thanks to the 80x80cm format, with a 9mm thickness and a matt finish. The collection offers a complete palette of eight color variants inspired directly by moods and the emotional dimension. We find the three neutral shades: Pure (white, comfortable and serene), Grace (gray, representing elegance and courtesy), and Bold (black, expressing affirmation, courage and audaciousness). These are joined by the warm and saturated nuances like Cozy (beige, conveying a relaxing and welcoming approach), Blush (peach color, recalling intense and sweet emotions), and Earthy (brown, recounting an intimate connection with nature). Two deep and introspective shades complete the offer: Quiet (green, creating a combined image of peace and calm) and Wavy (blue, describing the wave-like motion which animates the deepest thoughts).
The uniqueness of Ink lies in its capacity to generate configurations which are always new and surprising, since the variation in the orientation and layout of the tiles influences the final effect. This balance between minimalism with an Oriental nuance and a strongly graphic design language makes Ink an eclectic and refined product, capable of imparting extraordinary expressive power to spaces.
