The magic sunset of Catellani & Smith at the Phi Beach of Baja Sardinia

-

Phi Beach in Baja Sardinia, Italy, is a location of rare beauty, set against the stunning backdrop of the Napoleonic Fortress of Forte Cappellini, just a short distance from Porto Cervo, a breathtaking venue overlooking the sea and surrounded by rocky formations that blends seamlessly into the natural landscape.

It features a private beach furnished with comfortable sunbeds and canopied loungers, a beach bar, and two restaurants: the perfect location to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets in Sardinia thanks to Catellani & Smith lamps.

Nestled among the granite rocks—where guests can sit and enjoy the breathtaking view—are two Fil de Fer Outdoor lamps in 100 cm diameter, one in natural aluminium and the other in anodized gold finish. A customized version of Fil de Fer complements the luminous spheres, tracing the contours of the rock with its intricate glow, creating a magical effect in the Premium tables area of one of the Phi Beach’s restaurants.

On the large dining table, the ambiance is further enhanced by Giulietta BE portable, battery operated, and wireless lamps, in vintage brass finish. These lamps light up and can be dimmed with a simple touch.

Giulietta BE also illuminates the tables of the panoramic restaurant, where large windows open onto the sea, offering an unforgettable view. The atmosphere is further enhanced by Lederam Manta S2 suspension lamps, selected in the black fiberglass version with gold-coloured leaf finish in their interior. These lamps feature aluminium discs covered in the same gold-coloured finish, housing an integrated LED module, which is replaceable.

The visual impact of the space is striking, thanks to the lighting effect created by Bellatrix, the new lamp by Catellani & Smith. This stunning aluminium disc, with a diameter of 120 cm, has an irregular surface that is handcrafted using an exclusive Catellani & Smith process, to create hand-drawn radial lines pattern. The disc is meticulously covered in gold-coloured leaf, enhancing its luminous texture. Bellatrix is illuminated by nine dedicated LED boards, integrated into a 10 mm brass rod, supported by a flexible brass arm that allows to adjust the lighting direction.
