Three new projects by Koolhaas, Lissoni, and Van Duysen for Olivari

-

On the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2018 Olivari brand has presented three new handles designed by important figures in the world of international architecture and design: Rem Koolhaas, Piero Lissoni and Vincent Van Duysen.

Three different products, each one with its own distinctive style, but all of them sharing a common denominator: the impeccable quality that, for over 100 years, has defined this family company – now in its third generation.

The creative genius of Rem Koolhaas/OMA has conceived an archetypal handle, which is based on the simplicity of a square section, named ABC: the elementary nature of the geometry makes it the optimal support for a series of variations and ot is also possible to add surface texturing to the different metallic finishes or even a more radical treatment that involves perforation of the handle in three dimensions; these options, accompanied by a group of variable universal supports, generate innumerable possibilities for creating personality and impact in different contexts.

Moreove, Plume, conceived and designed by Piero Lissoni, is light as a feather, simple, slender and quintessential; it is modern and yet also completely at home in classical settings.

Finally, Vincent Van Duysen has developed the handle he named Icona: it showcases a minimal, neutral aesthetic, a kind of passe-partout with a touch of the past while still contemporary and modern; a great deal of attention has been given to ergonomics making Icona pleasing to the hand, thanks to the rounded section on the inside of the grip, and the contrast between this rounded section and the flat, external part of the handle creates an unexpected effect.

Important figures create for Olivari timeless, high-quality products, in harmony with the tradition of the brand.
