StudioMABB, a rustic farmhouse becomes a restaurant near Brescia

-

In Villagana (Brescia, Italy) there was an old rustic farmhouse built in the 16th century and belonging to the estate of a local noble family, who used it as a stable: today, that farmhouse has become a restaurant, designed by StudioMABB to be a place where you can taste artisanal beer and local dishes.

As the building is bound by the superintendence of artistic and cultural heritage, the architects focused on the renovation of the interiors, leaving the internal layout unchanged and transforming materiality and details.

Inspired by the history of the palace and the territory, the handmade terracotta floors are characterised by slight chromatic variations, which testify to the different historical periods in which they were placed; the metal frames of the windows overlooking the garden have been restored; the structure of the ceiling with wooden beams has been preserved; finally, the walls have a traditional rustic lime-based plaster.

A project that renews history with respect and contemporary style.
