A brand-new dimension of practical design and comfort: this is the concept of PLATEA, the Alice Ceramica collection of inset countertop washbasins characterized by clean, essential lines and a meticulously geometric shape featuring a distinctive double-depth edge bordering rectangular washbasins that harmoniously combines the countertop with the basin, making them even more pleasurable to use.
The inset washbasin is edged with a 3 cm border set onto the top so that it seamlessly become one with the vanity unit; the double depth of the washbasin enables you to make maximum use of the countertop into which it is set with a 9 cm deep basin. A practical solution perfectly matched with a minimal design.
The PLATEA collection offers four different inset washbasins: the smallest has a basin that is 61 cm wide and 46 cm deep; the medium basin measures 81 x 46 cm, while the dimensions for the larger basin are 101 x 46 cm. A 121 x 46 cm double basin design is also available: this two-in-one solution features plenty of countertop space between the two washbasins for all your bathroom essentials.
The collection offers a myriad of on-trend colours and finishes. In addition to basic white gloss, there are ten colour solutions with a Matt finish: White, Black, Coffee, Grey, Sand, Pink, Lagoon, Ginger, Mauve and Alpine Green, and four colour solutions with a Gloss finish: Myrtle, Pine, Tabasco and Honey. Precious and fierce are the two Metal finishes: Platinum and Gold. All these colours are the result of 9 different production steps for each item, from the casting to the firing in the 80 metres-long tunnel-kiln that glazes the products at 1250 Celsius degrees. And last but not least are the four elegantly refined solutions in the Materia finish created with an exclusive production process known as decalcomania, in which a special film is applied to the items before the final firing at 900° in the kiln: Carrara, Marquinia, Bronze and Amazon.
Just like all Alice collections, PLATEA ceramic products are protected by the aliglaze+ system, a special antibacterial glaze guaranteed to protect surfaces so they always stay clean and germ free. This type of glaze has proven to be highly effective as its composition includes antimicrobial agents, such as silver, titanium and zinc ions, that inhibit the growth of bacteria. The glaze is also designed to be wear and abrasion resistant over time.
Finally, all the PLATEA collection’s inset washbasins are compatible with the lacquered wood UNI no-top vanity units created with an essential, functional and linear design with 45° joints. The inset countertop washbasins drop into the top, while the border rests on the countertop and remains in full view so that it can be coordinated with the bathroom’s design choices and sanitaryware. UNI vanity units have a large handy drawer on runners and are available in the following dimensions: 60×45, 80×45, 100×45, and 120×45. All UNI vanity units are available in Alice’s colours and matt finishes plus a version with a wood-effect laminated finish in Newport Oak and Canaletto Walnut.
