Carpet Edition presents the new collection Nomad

-

The ancient culture of the nomadic populations of North Africa meets the skill of Indian artisans in the new collection Nomad signed by Carpet Edition in 2020 and available in versions Atlas, Clan and Dune.

Every Nomad rug is produced by hand in India: a long and laborious process is used which begins with a design on graph paper in which each square corresponds to a knot and, this way, as if with a map, the design is realized with the right proportion on a vertical loom where tens of thousands of knots are tied by artisans.

Atlas

The entire production process, from carding and color dying the fibers all the way through final washing, including the hand knotting, involves many people and allows for the creation of a unique piece every time; the variations in color and small irregularities testify to the beauty of a completely artisanal product.

Realized in various percentages of wool, bamboo and cotton, Nomad Atlas collection rugs are characterized by delicate geometric patterns which are highlighted by the nuances of blue, grey, sand and gold, colors which evoke the panoramic Atlas mountain range.

Clan

The linear designs of the Nomad Clan are inspired by the system of symbols dear to the Berber clans: realized in wool and cotton, these rugs come with a fringed border, typical of the tradition of nomad tribes.

Dune

The Nomad Dune rugs complete the collection and are distinguished by longer fibers: the movement of its cotton and wool yarn recalls the freedom with which the wind plays in the desert creating spectacular sand dunes, delivering a decidedly original visual and emotional impact.
