Joli and Bacchette, the modern style of Zilio A&C’s new chairs

-

Last april Zilio A&C, the historic company founded in 1951 near Udine, presented two new designs at the Salone del Mobile.Milano: the Joli chair by the Swedish NOTE design studio and the armchair that expands the Bacchette collection by Studio Mentsen, a Japanese duo based in London, which also takes care of the brand’s art direction.

From residential to contract, NOTE design studio’s design was created for dining and meeting rooms. Every construction detail is designed to emanate generosity and warmth. The beech woodwork, characterized by a particular sturdiness, gives shape to the supports with essential lines. The backrest features a soft, voluminous geometry that personalizes the welcoming silhouette.

Studio Mentsen introduces a new armchair to complement the Bacchette dining chair and they were inspired by the archetypal appeal of folding safari chairs. Designed for living but also for outdoor relaxation, the Bacchette armchair is easily foldable and transportable. The structure juxtaposes beech wood and painted steel, crafted to be slender and visually minimalist yet also sturdy.

Two designs that, like every other Zilio A&C production, represent the perfect synthesis of careful study of construction details, excellence of workmanship and simplicity of shapes and colors, showcasing and honoring the craftsmanship of the territory through responsible and local production.
