Row, luxury lamps between wire mesh and brass

-

Founded in 2021 by designer Hiroki Hakamada, Studio Row is a young lighting design brand offering a collection of luxury lamps characterised by extreme formal rigour and considerable freedom in composition.

All the elements included in the catalogue are assembled by hand and combine a brass structure with other high-quality materials such as industrial wire mesh, frosted glass, marble, and faux leather. The result is a perfect blend of contemporary design and high Japanese craftsmanship.

Among the most representative products of the brand’s poetics is the Row series, a sophisticated “family” of cylindrical jewel lamps available in different versions: floor, wall, pendant lamps (in single, double or triple versions).

Shaped with pure, sculptural forms, Row lamps employ wedge wires that spiral around the light source whose reflections thus generate an interesting alternation between light and shadow. Simple yet elegant, they combine typical industrial features with a precious brass finish and remain both sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Thanks to its unique style, the Row collection was recently used by the designer as part of his design for the Gem Castle Yukizaki luxury jewellery and watch shop in Tokyo’s Ginza district.
