In complete synergy with the Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow, SaloneSatellite Moscow was back in Russia in 2019 and celebrated its 15th edition: this year again, its mission was to provide the most reliable international scouting showcase for new creativity, a platform dedicated to the quest for, selection and visibility of emerging young designers.
In Moscow 46 young designers, chosen from among the top students at the most renowned design schools in Russia and the former Soviet Republics, took the floor to present work that brings together tradition and future, storytelling and original concepts, local craftsmen and new technologies: projects that take in experimentation, memory, materials, slow design, creative recycling, crosspollination and digital technologies that redress the balance between the design, function and beauty of an object.
In addition, the SaloneSatellite Moscow invited the young Russian designers to contend with the inspirational theme of last April’s event in Milan, FOOD as a DESIGN OBJECT, an interesting and challenging field for the new generation of Russian designers.
The event devoted to young designers under 35 offered a great chance to make direct contact with the international press and leading furnishing sector companies, but it is also an occasion for personal growth for the young participants, thanks to the opportunity for interface with other designers and with the critical opinion of experts within the sector.
The top three award-winners will be invited to the 2020 edition of SaloneSatellite, held under the umbrella of the Salone del Mobile.Milano from 21st to 26th April 2020.
