This is Denmark, 15 stories of Danish design at Fuorisalone 2023

Simplicity, sustainability, heritage, craftmanship, international outlook, care for people and nature: these values will espress the essence of Danish design on the occasion of This is Denmark, the exhibition scheduled from 17 to 23 April 2023 during the Fuorisalone in Milan, in the fascinating context of Alcova.

The installation This is Denmark proposes a journey to Denmark: set as a landscape, 15 objects related to the Danish culture tell 15 tales, each representing the design spirit of each of the 15 companies participating in the exhibition.

Like 15 characters in a story, the 15 objects will unveil the values of contemporary Danish design while each element (sounds, colours, physical feelings) will contribute to the creation of a sensorial and at the same time intellectual experience.

The layout of the exhibition also draws from the Danish tradition: a calm and reflective atmosphere takes inspiration from a natural landscape, where the key actors are wood and water, and will include a playlist of Danish design stories to listen to.

This is Denmark is a project by the Royal Danish Embassy in Italy in collaboration with The Confederation of Danish Industry and Creative Denmark. The exhibition is curated by design journalists Elena Cattaneo and Laura Traldi and designed by Matteo Ragni Studio.
