Artknit Studios, the brand of clothes made of natural fibres for people who love quality knitwear, has recently opened its first permanent store in Milan, Via Metastasio 1, in the heart of the Cadorna area.
To express the values of slow living, warmness, and digital innovation characterising the brand identity, the architectural firm and general contractor Offstage has created a harmonious, elegant, light and minimal concept, evoking the items of the collection.
The interiors have been designed starting from a neutral box laid on a wool carpet in natural colours, with durmast panels for the chests of drawers, the shelves and the walls, an organic fabric made by Artknit to close the dressing rooms and a metal mesh structure, with wood laminate and mirror containers, that becomes the centre of the space and adds a contemporary touch. A pre-existing suspended wooden grid panel, painted in the same colour of the walls, covers the whole surface of the store and becomes an element to support and mitigate the light system.
A precise circular path – created to assist the visitors in exploring the items – develops around the removable central island, whose materials are present also in the enclosing shelves holding up the clothes hangers.
Artknit flagship store in Milan is thus a multiform place, which is at the same time a shop, an exhibition venue and an event space in line with Artknit style.
