Corte Castello Restoration, the project by Archiplanstudio in Mantua

-

In Casalmoro, in the province of Mantua (Italy), Archiplanstudio has completed the Corte Castello Restoration, a restoration project of a small 15th century building built by the architect and sculptor Luca Fancelli.

The architects focused on the relationship with materials characterized by extreme fragility: the formal choices and the simplicity of the spaces have been interpreted with solutions that exalted the few signs still legible today.

Consequently, the internal doors and windows are large frames that suggest selective looks, while the geometry introduced in the arrangement of the exteriors, made of few signs, enhances the extraordinary Renaissance facade.

The result of the restoration is an essential and harmonious place, poised between present and past.
