The landscape and the house: the project by Botticini + Facchinelli ARW

The connection with the ground and the relationship with the landscape are the two fundamental elements of the new residential project designed by the architectural studio Botticini + Facchinelli ARW in Cremignane (Italy), an area near the Adamello’s mountain and the Iseo lake.

Located on a hill, the house is characterised by a view that it opens on a natural reservation and the structure looks has always existed but, at the same time, it is the expression of a contemporary idea of living.

It presents a C irregular installation, conceived to connect the different geographic encircling outline and select the view both with the living room areas, overlooking the courtyard and the mountains, and the sleeping areas with continuous glass wall towards the lake: the house is, in this way, configured as a suspended roof between the ground and the sky.

In this relationship with the ground, the house is placed on an upper level in respect to the site; this solution gives the possibility to maintain the house with a very low volume, taking advantage from the different height in direction of the entrance, where it is possible to obtain a space for the parking lot and for a staircase, that it is connected with the upper floor.

Finally, the use of natural materials, such as the wood, enhances the house’s concept and links it strongly to the colours of the landscape so as to enhance the relationship with the natural surroundings.
