Polet and Moon, Twils’ comfort between Castiglioni and Ragni

New editions and new products, focusing on style and comfort.

Twils, a long-standing Italian company that produces upholstered beds and sofas, presents Polet, the functional but atypical armchair/bed designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1992 and which Twils has decided to re-edit.

Polet has a solid beech structure with black lacquered finish fitted with a brass joint offering four different reclined positions.

“Twils has always been strongly design-oriented” – says Vilma Carnieletto, co-owner and director of communications of the company – “I therefore wholeheartedly agreed to the idea of reviving such a significant and important piece by the great Achille Castiglioni. Polet sums up and conveys all the main contents of our brand: it is a comfortable and functional armchair that also converts to a bed, offering a design with pure, decisive lines. In particular, it has a textile component, which can be interpreted with elegance and creativity, Twils-style.”

Another new Twils product is the armchair Moon designed by Matteo Ragni and characterised by a sophisticated play of symmetries, created by a single block forming the seat and backrest, induces a feeling of enjoyable buoyancy.

The overhanging armrest makes this geometric yet sensual armchair seem suspended; finally, the seat and the backrest are supported by a steel plate, which runs like a single metal thread along the entire seat structure, conferring upon the soft, comfortable seat an unexpected gracefulness.
