Slamp’s best-selling lamp Clizia Mama non Mama Gold shines in gold

-

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Clizia, Slamp’s best-selling lamp, the company launches Clizia Mama non Mama Gold, the new golden version of this iconic light designed by Adriano Rachele.

In ancient times, Clizia was the nymph, who turned into a sunflower, after being rejected by the God of Sun. The same magic can be found in this Slamp’s lamp, which combines organic shapes and lightness in a sculpture. Clizia evokes the geometry of the natural world and at the same time it is made of square elements of Opalflex® or Cristalflex® – an extremely light but strong recyclable material – which are manually fitted together through a tailored process.

Luca Mazza, Slamp’s Director, tells us:

Clizia is one of Slamp’s most beloved projects. For its decade we have chosen a particular and precious finish, as gold is the materialisation of sunlight, a synonym of energy and perfection.”

This marks the birth of Clizia Mama non Mama Gold: the image of the flower is even stressed by the romantic arrangement of its petals and the gold finish is the result of an incessant testing process.

If up to this moment, in fact, the gold finish has been made through the metallisation of techno polymers, for the first time in this project Slamp uses cold application on double-sided gold leaf, a technique that can give the surface a crackle texture.

Thanks to its thin cracks reproducing the delicate structure of human skin, the petals of the lamps become more resistant and tactile, casting plays of lights and shadows that create effects similar to the warmth of sunlight.

Available in different models – suspension, ceiling/wall (mini, medium and large) and table with rechargeable battery (black or white base) – Clizia Mama non Mama Gold is provided in a huge 130 cm diameter oversize suspension version: a true light sculpture able to change the look of classical and contemporary environments.
